Lokahi (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides a platform to discover and host local experiences. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information we collect

• Account data: email, name (from you or via Apple/Google), avatar.
• Event & RSVP data: events you create/join, capacity, timestamps.
• Device & app data: app version, device model, OS; push token for notifications.
• Location (optional): if you share an address when creating events or allow location for nearby results.

2. How we use information

• Authenticate your account and keep you signed in.
• Create, list, and manage events and RSVPs.
• Send notifications about RSVP changes and event updates (you can control OS-level notification settings).
• Improve safety, prevent abuse, and comply with law.

3. Legal bases (EEA/UK)

We process your data to perform our contract with you (provide the app), based on your consent (e.g., notifications), and for our legitimate interests (fraud prevention, service improvement).

4. Sharing

• Service providers: hosting and infrastructure (e.g., Supabase for database/storage, Firebase/Apple Push for notifications, app analytics).
• Hosts & attendees: when you RSVP, your display name and avatar may be visible to the host and other attendees (you can limit visibility in Privacy settings).
• Legal & safety: to comply with law or respond to valid requests.

5. Data retention

We keep data while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app; this removes your profile and personal data we control, subject to any legal retention needs.

6. Your rights

Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

7. Children

Lokahi is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. International transfers

We may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. If changes are material, we’ll notify you in the app or by email.
